Yeah I’m gona adjust the band and see what happens. If nothing, I’ll drop the pan and possibly the valve body to see what’s going on. The fluid smells burnt but, it’s not dark. In fact, the fluid looks clear-ish with a touch of pink.
Even though 3rd is softer, it still feels like a good shift. The RMVB definitely puts a lot of strain on the trans. Normally the 1-2 shift will push me back in the seat and the 2-3 shift will shove me back. I haven’t tried to adjust the band yet. I guess that could give me an indication if the...
Reverse is as firm as 1st gear. I do not remember if there’s a screen for the valve body. I’m sure there’s some material in the fluid but, I never thought I could lose 2nd gear overnight like that
I know the burnt fluid is a problem but, is it THE problem? Not sure it would be a band adjustment after ~5k miles but, who knows? I’m just hoping it’s not in need of a full rebuild so soon.

Issue:
Took a 40 mile drive in 98* weather. Next day it wouldn’t shift into 2nd gear. Feels like it stays in 1st. There’s no problem shifting into 3rd...
Well it was definitely the parking pawl. I dropped the pan, removed the valvebody, and reinserted the rod while spinning the driveshaft. Drove it around for a few miles and everything works great. Thank you guys for the help.
I know it's not an A body however, I've been on this forum for a few years and I've received some really good advise from many members on here so I figured I'd ask for help with my Trailduster. I have a 75 Plymouth Trailduster sport with the 440/727 combo. I recently rebuilt the transmission as...
Oh sweet, well hopefully it still works with a loaded suspension. I'm doing a 904 to 727 swap also so I'm in the market for a driveshaft. If that ramcharger driveahaft works with the suspension loaded then I'll be searching the yards for an old ramcharger!
Ive been looking all over this forum and for some reason im having a hard time finding whether or not I can bolt up my 68 904 from my 318 to a 91 360. Does it just bolt directly to it or does it require an adapter plate? Thanks
This happened to me in my 78 camaro a couple years back. a small piece of my brake pad broke off and wedged itself causeing both rear tires to lock up.(I had drums in the back). Once i put the car in reverse the broken piece unlodged itself and i went on my way. When i pulled off the drum the...
