Why is my intake killing my vac hose?

X2 , it was easier for me since I was here looking at it. glad this fixed the issue... now to tackle the next 150 issues... lol Can't bring a car back from the dead and expect it to have no problems I suppose!

Why is my intake killing my vac hose?

Distributor had to turn clockwise, the intake was preventing it from turning CCW.

Why is my intake killing my vac hose?

if it happens to be off by a few teeth, then rotating the wires like u say would fix it? as for the intermediate shaft, i'm not sure I understand which shaft but could probably figure it out if the wire-rotating option fails to produce results...

Why is my intake killing my vac hose?

If she runs pretty good here does that mean perhaps the distributor is off a tooth? she starts to run better if I turn the distributor a little more towards the intake but then it will completely cut off the vacuum advance line... :(

    Does this sound normal?

Damn, how did I overlook that?? :P guess I posted these pics before I really looked at them. I better adjust those bolts. I still think I'll get the headers, I'm sure in the long run they will be better. Thanks SS

    Does this sound normal?

Well, I just got a good offer on a pair of hookers... maybe when I'm done with them I'll get some headers ;) but seriously : How difficult is install on a pair of headers, can it be done with the engine as it sits?

    Does this sound normal?

This is what I'm lookin at... I'm pretty sure these are 318 manifolds... That bad for the X-heads?

    Does this sound normal?

I do know that I didnt see anything in the exit or the manifold when I had it off

    Does this sound normal?

Here's an old pic of it, you are more knowledgeable then I, perhaps you could tell me?

    Does this sound normal?

It's got X heads and these manifolds are High performance manifolds from what i'm told. I know for a fact though that it's got x heads and 340 intake. I do not recall having anything like what your describing on the manifold though... but it's worth a look to be for sure.

    Does this sound normal?

good ear, Yea I have a stubborn exhaust leak SOMEWHERE on the passenger side, I've replaced the manifold gaskets but still gettin it. Possibly warped manifold blew out my new gasket. I've been contemplating getting headers but I hear alot about fitting issues for the headers in my price range...

    Does this sound normal?

Is the sound sucking sound because I have an open-element air filter? it sounds like it's coming from the carb but i cannot find a definite source. all vacuum lines are used or capped off that I can see, and the big hole in the back is plugged...

power dies at mid-range... please help!

Ok, so I think it was a combo of having 2.94 gears (which I would love to now get rid of, haha) and my secondaries weren't opening. It seems like I had to adjust the electric choke a good bit to get to where it would allow the secondaries to open... is this normal?

power dies at mid-range... please help!

I'll check the throttle cable to make sure it's reaching WOT. carb was just rebuilt too... new fuel filter.. :P I have to also check the kickdown linkage and make sure it's pushing the arm all the way back.

power dies at mid-range... please help!

all clean and new, perhaps i'll get a higher fuel pressure reg since mine only goes to 5.5lbs... i'll shoot for 7 -8 ish... and no, no backfire

power dies at mid-range... please help!

Mechanical fuel pump from advance auto (maybe AC Delco?) to a Mr.Gasket fuel pressure regulator with a dial that goes from 1 - 6 lbs. I may have to get a new FP reg to try upping the pressure

power dies at mid-range... please help!

Edelbrock 600cfm, I cut fuel pressure back to 5.5lbs because prior to that the carb was flowing gas into the intake after shut-off (even when cold) from too much pressure... is 5.5 lbs not enough maybe?

power dies at mid-range... please help!

From a stand-still if I stomp the gas the car wants to get up and go, tires start spinning and such, but only for a short while before what seems like it just gives up. any time between 1500 - 2200 rpm range it's great, but after that it's a grandma car... :P I'm wondering if it could be off...

    Edelbrock Fireball!!!

Somewhat, My carb was flooding and had fuel coming out when I shut the car off. Just a matter of too much pressure for me. I could start it after it had been sitting for awhile but it would only run for 30 seconds at most before flooding and dying.

    Edelbrock Fireball!!!

My Edelbrock 1406 600cfm carb was having major troubles... I bought a regulator and set it to 5.5lbs as the manual said and I was good to go!

What car can I strip EFI off of?

Well it's pretty simple, I'll give you that... but a little off budget. I was thinking junkyard EFI swap :P It's ok though I'm happy enough with my Edelbrock 4 barrel... For now! One day i'll convert to EFI, but I think I'll wait til I have something other than a 318... Thanks to you all...

What car can I strip EFI off of?

This is for a daily driver with a moderate cam, it's running an edelbrock 600cfm 4 barrel, but I was thinking that fuel injection is more reliable. If I found a late 80's/early 90's dodge at pull-a-part I could probably get everything off of it fairly cheap. What would I need to get off of it...

What car can I strip EFI off of?

Are there any vehicles that (if I found in a junkyard) I would be able to strip the fuel injection setup off of and it would fit my 318? :coffee2:

UPDATE: Saved by Mr.Gasket's in-line fuel pressure regulator. No more issues in that department, Now just gotta set the timing, get new belts, and see how comfy she is driving around the complex. Hopefully have her out on the road soon! im getting eager!

    318 Troubleshoot

Round thingy = Venturi booster, sorry... lol to me it's the round thingy... I had the vacuum advance in the wrong inlet and the correct one was capped off, I switched them, ill try again tomorrow. Also it used to run great when the fuel tank vent was plugged off with a bolt, I took the...

    318 Troubleshoot

No go.... Damnit! Start her up, Choke's bringing RPMs up as it should, Down to idle and it slowly dies. I get out and look at the carb and it's still trickling gas from the round thingy... I'll get a pic and illustrate... Also the maintainance guy stopped by and said it may be related to...
