Race car & trailer got taken out at stop light

I am curious how someone would disagree with this sentiment. The insurance company is not getting paid to settle claims fairly..........just cheaply. There is a significant amount of damage and there may or may not be an injury. But trying to get them to do the right thing will either take...

'72 Demon, Stock Tank - Elec. Pump & Filter mounting?

That is how I have mine.......Tank , filter , pump at the rear of the tank. -8 to carb with regulator past the end of the carb , and gauge and return plumbed off of the regulator. The return line runs out of the bottom of the regulator , the gauge off of the front port. Not a great pic , but...

LDR working man drag radial class

I remember the early days of 10 1/2 " tire classes............the idea was to keep it affordable and the logic was that you could only throw so much power at this size tire. This was 2005 or so , I was at Houston Motorsports Park spectating. 632 inch Gene Fulton BBC's with four stages of spray...

How far to rev this 273 commando build

Huh ? You can float them with a roller cam and a rev kit if you have no regard for parts or the laws of physics.. With a solid cam , the springs will let you know when your right foot needs to go on a diet. The only valves that cannot float to my limited knowledge is the Ducati motorcycles with...

    Best street/strip tires?

I run the same size as famous Bob.....can't remember the brand for the life of me. I found tires with an S rating , tested to 112 m.p.h.. That is the highest speed rating I could find in this size and they work well.

    Best street/strip tires?

Thanks for this........I was just about to post the same question. I have ET Streets ......295X55-15 and with SS springs I did some monster burn outs , but never got a hint of hook. I changed over to CalTracs and adjustable shocks. It has an AlterKtion on the front and I know that it will not be...

    A body Gas tank?

I think we're talking apples to rutabagas here. A hydra mat works to keep the liquid level around the pick up when a horizontal pick up is used.........in tank pumps like this a lot. A sump is preferred with an external electric pump unless it uses a diaphragm. Rotary vane pumps like to push...

    A body Gas tank?

Don't let their paranoia stop you. It's not the tank........it's the fumes that you have to deal with. Unless it is rust they are worried about , there is no valid reason not to if the proper prep is done.

    A body Gas tank?

If you do it yourself ............ and I paid to have the first one done many moons ago , but have done three since...........three cycles at the coin op car wash. Soap and rinse. That will ensure that there are no left over vapors to ignite. It might be over kill , but I have never had any...

    A body Gas tank?

If it's for an early A body , I have one I am replacing with a fuel cell. -10 return plumbed in the front and two 1/2 " NPT outlets on the sump message me if this works for you.......it will be going cheap.

    Premade Seat brackets

I bought a set from Jegs..........non adjustable. They were about as strong as aluminum foil. Cheap galvanized steel , not even .060 thick. Then I made my own. Real Flintstone like......I bent the 90's over the lip of a utility trailer's top rail. Two clamps and a big hammer. Three corners...

    Cowl vent delete?

Go to any decent hardware store and look for chair leg caps..........they come in a variety of diameters and I have always been able to find the perfect fit for the wiper holes. They are basically round chrome buttons with little tabs that snap in place to hold them. You'll have to be a little...

    Anyone running a 9 inch?

Pinion snubber = door stop. Ideally , a CalTrac type arrangement if you are married to the leaf spring idea. S/S leafs and clamps certainly work , but there are better ways to skin this particular cat. As long as you have the housing out for welding ( I am assuming it is out ) I'd consider a...

    Spring re-location?

When you open up the wheel wells , save your self some pain and use 8 to 10 " strips rather than one long piece to fit in there. You can thank me later. I have an early A body , so the numbers will vary from a later chassis. Leafs moved to the frame rails , axle housing shortened 2" per side...

is there a shifter that cables from the rear?

Be prepared to get a longer cable. My '65 Dart has the shifter between the seats.....fairly typical location , and the cable that came with it...I think it was 5 ' , but it was too short to route without some significant bends. I got a longer cable on Amazon , an 8 ' and it is the proverbial...

How do you cool you motor in between passes?

I am having a hard time finding any info on them , but ShoGun industries made a Tik-Tok sequential switch for electric fan / water pump combos. We used one for years in our last car. It would run the water pump for 30 seconds , then run the fan for a minute...........it repeated these cycles...

    Oil accumulator location?

I went with the solenoid on this one and it wasn't cheap , but truly is the cat's *** for ease of operation.

    Oil accumulator location?

No and probably. Routing any lines through the passenger compartment is just a bad idea........legal or not. Brake......maybe. Fuel and hot engine oil is a " what are you thinking ? " deal from my chair. I hung mine on what was left of the inner fender and the hood closes just fine......it is...

    Header help!

Got a buddy who can weld ? http://stahlheaders.com/Inventory%20sale%20prebends.htm This is a screaming deal. You will need to buy flanges and collectors , but could have a 1400 dollar set of headers for under 500.00

    Header help!

Stahl is out of the header building business and I would guess any inventory may be gone as well. If they have anything left , I would jump on it..........very nice stuff. They may still sell kits , but I heard a couple years ago that they were done building them.

Dodge R5 bell housing for Reid superglide, turboglide, and BTE case

I know you put a lot of time and head scratching into making this a reality. I have always felt that plates and spacers are a band aid , but this looks like a real fix. If I was planning an R5 / P7 deal , this would be the way to answer a lot of questions.
