That sounds really cool-I'm cautiously optimistic about the quality and consistency

Has anyone tried the Odessa Cylinder Heads for 5.2/5.9 Magnum ?

I wanna say there was a thread about this a couple/few years ago-lemme see if i can find it.

Flat cam lobe, what cam now

I think younggun2.0 ran the comp 294S (standard 294 magnum solid) in his flat topped 383 with edelbrock heads--I know you have different heads, but tuned right, it would probably run well. The lift is significantly lower, but to be perfectly honest, unless your heads were very well prepped and...

Flat cam lobe, what cam now

I think he said .590 was the absolute biggest lift cam he could run due to seal/retainer clearance...that lunati cam might be a touch too big... I would however agree with recommending something like Lunati that takes better advantage of the big lifters...you could also go with a custom grind...

    I think I’m done for the year….

...might have to drag out the seat cover with a tow truck after that. I take it no desire to find out yet? :(

^^ what he said--a huge accomplishment by any standard

    quick 318?

4800' elevation is a *****...what's the typical DA when you run? Also take into consideration an '04 GT likely weighs about a solid 400lbs more than your Valiant (if not possibly more). 14.05 in a stock '04 GT ain't terribly bad-especially with the elevation. Slicks&skinnies, 4.10s or 4.30s...

Man I love the dragstrip... Fella here with this old Coronet...440, 8.5:1, ported heads, COMP nostalgia cam, 4.30 gears, 2800 stall, and runs 7.6s in the 1/8th. E body k member sets the engine back 3" from stock...lots of little stuff, really cool guy-Jay Rankin

Might want to check some of your specs quoted there...please view this webpage. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/189676-the-new-nascar-engines-a-quick-look#/articles/189676-the-new-nascar-engines-a-quick-look/page/9 Nascar engines also use 12:1 compression (increases combustion efficiency)...

Looks like a few folks already beat me to it-this is why I asked if it needed to be rejetted...I've seen an 850DP on a 4.6 4V modular and it lives quite well. If the carb is putting out too much fuel it needs to be rejetted or have different pump cams or possibly smaller squirters or accel pump...

    score of a lifetime..lol

Nice score! ...besides, the engine will only "take" as much as it needs...are you gonna have to jet it or did I miss that part?
