    anybody got a pic of the topside of a valve body showing the dhaft that that goes thru the transmission case that the linkages go onto I can grab the pic and pit an arrow to the problem area, the shaft breaks loose from the other dohicky and needs to be welded back into place

    Uhmmmmm There is also a strong possibility that the valve body needs to be pulled and welded as the lever inside the trans is staked on and gets loose after years of abuse...I have had this happen several times over three decades of playing with mopars

    yepp, you mentioned he had a convertor built I knida assumed the used the original case....I went thru all this decades ago and finally got a convertor guy to do what I asked..the results were awesome!!!

    its a 65 with original transmission tels me it has ball and trunion type driveshaft.....i just went thru this with the waggin...made the dash shake like crazy...changed out the driveshaft and she's smooth as glass now, that the only thing left that could cause this the way you are describing it...

    there are three oem flexplates available, large, small and small with small center hole for early 273 and slant six. the torque convertors from 904 and 727 are NOT interchangeable...installing a externally balanced 360 in place of a 273 318 or 340 is going to cause a balance issue which is...

    bill you will need to get an aftermarket flexplate from summit...or change the transmission torque convertor the 360 is externally balanced,if he is going to use a 340 or 318 later down the line the aftermarket flexplate is the way to go....

    That's the 7 1/4...good pic!!! does it have big bolt pattern or small bolt pattern? if big bolt pattern i'm interested in the axels, maybe backing plates and hardware and drums also will be better than sendin the stuff to the scrapper

    Jack the body of the car up so the rear end will hang down for a better pic....even if it is a 7 1/4 if it is working don't go rushing it off to the scrap yard...sheesh wasteful people, i still have one in my waggin with 318 four speed and beat the snot out of it and it still going strong...

    why would you sell the rear out of it? if it is 7 1/4 with big bolt pattern I would be interested in the axels and the brake hardware with backing plates and drums but prolly not for that price
