the side of the bushing that is too the left appears to be the end that goes in first. Ive never seen a crank drilled out like that before so I'd start by putting the bellhousing on the trans and measuring how far the bushing can be installed and still support the output shaft of the trans.

good call refish,Ive never experienced that particular problem.I will say that there is always room for more grease in the throwout bearing and I have out of habit sat there and packed new throwout bearings as they tend to not put enough grease in them when they are manufactured,kinda like...

Doesn't look like my 360 flywheel at all,I have one for passenger cars and one for truck and both of them have the drilling on the back side so I'd venture to say that is a 318 flywheel,if there is a part # on it someone here might know the fact's
