    360 vs 383

Back in the day my 340 swinger had lower cost insurance than a 340 GTS all because of the model, GTS.

    Wiring identification preference?

There is a heavy duty shrink wrap printer from Dymo. But not worth the cost if not using all the time. There is heavy duty P touch label cartridges. Or white electrical tape and a fine tip sharpie

Rear Drum Parking Brake Cable Attachment

Lol Thank you. Can I do this assembled or does it need to be apart? Also that spring is wedged between the ball end and the flanged bulkhead. It doesn’t compress much at all and it’s a real pita! I loosedned the nut on the cable and there is no tension and am wondeif the cable might be stuck...

    Wiring identification preference?

I’m looking at trying to clean up the wiring in my 66 Dart, but only a few circuits need new wiring. I’m just replacing a few wires, removing a few suspect spliced-in wires, and just trying to route and bundle them in a more logical fashion. I’m wondering what everyone’s preference is regarding...

    PTC converters switches hands

Just a follow up to our discussion. Got a loaner converter from a member here to try. Advertised 5300 stall, flashes at 5500 in my car and works WAY better all around than the converter I had in the car. Tight in the pits so I'm not revving to the moon to move the car, flashes hard at 5500...

Someone needs to start re-casting 340 blocks

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. I’m not sure how old you are but in my lifetime the Chrysler guys were and are the worst at spending money. If blocks were 2k they might, MIGHT sell 10% more. Maybe. This forum is a great benchmark to see how people think. At 2k a pop, I’d bet 90% of the guys on...

Sorry keyboard warriors- that looks 7-1/4” to me. Look at the tube diameter. That is one hole shot away from the Big Bang theory. Honestly we need more pictures-

    360 vs 383

Also rising insurance premiums for high performance cars. One of my proudest carb tuning achievements was getting 13mpg out of a lo-po 400. it was in a heavy brick of a '70s, 2WD truck with 3.23 gears and a granny tranny truck 4 speed. The P.O. put a .484" MP cam in it with a stock bottom end...

Someone needs to start re-casting 340 blocks

Problem with that is you would end up with 100k more in product sitting around hoping someone wants the combo you pre-built... then warranty issues cause of people blowing **** up and trying to blame the shortblock (that's why blueprint doesn't sell shortblocks) just a lot of headache..

    Penn Grade (Brad Penn) oil

I posted a video about this exact thing after I was called a liar and a bunch of other ****. It’s in the Performance forum. It’s not that long. Worth watching if you want to make power and increase engine life.

[FOR SALE] M P Chrome Valve Covers

I have a set of Mopar Performance chrome valve covers for an LA small block. The chrome is real nice on these. I had to do a little welding on one cover, of some pin holes (see Pic). Don't know if it will leak or not. I think you can mount these so the weld will be on top, and not too noticable...

Someone needs to start re-casting 340 blocks

I bet if they had ready to go short blocks to go for each of the popular top end choices in that market, they would be in higher demand with credit card builders.

    Rear end

TC's today are not what they used to be. The need to get the car moving better is exactly why you would use a better one on the street. Gearing is fine to change, but a quality TC will help immensely.

    360 vs 383

I bet the average big block is making more hp per pound of engine weight, especially in a A Body.

Rear Drum Parking Brake Cable Attachment

    1) stop putting your finger in the way. lol! 2) using channel lock pliers and a pair of cut off pliers you need to hold the ball end with the channel locks and squeeze gently between them and the spring with the cut off pliers. Then pull the handles of the cut off pliers toward the channel...

    A833 308 Bearing Installation

I believe the clip goes on the outside and the retainer that the throw out bearing rides on holds it in place. It’s been a long time since I’ve had one apart.
