Does the rear end need to be broken in?

These gears I have are used, but they have new axles from Dr. Diff. Would this need to be broke in? What type oil should I buy? Also there is a bolt on the axle itself, and one on the pumpkin. Which do you use to fill from? Dumb I know.... Thanks!

    Missing rubber bushings in springs?

I am also replacing my springs, and the new springs only have the rubber in one end (The larger end). The other end is just bare metal. Is there a way to remove the rubber out of the old springs and reuse them? The rubber is in good shape yet. Thanks!

Is 904 tranny, just a 904 tranny no matter what year it is? Are some years better then others? Mine happens to be from a 72 Satellite.

About to start rear end swap... a few questions?

The rear end I bought didn't come with a snubber, is it a must have? Also just to throw it out there is there a diagram available that shows the assembly of new axles with green bearings? Thanks!

Are the drive shafts, and U joints that they used for the /6 the same material and thickness as say the ones with a V8 8 3/4 rear end? They are just a bit shorter or longer? Thanks!

    Rear end, driveshaft questions...

I have just bought new axles for my 8 3/4 swap. I have been doing a lot of reading and I'd like to make sure I have things right. From my understanding swapping a 8 1/4 for a 8 3/4 with a 904 tranny I will need to shorten the driveshaft 2 1/4". Does that sound correct? Also I have read...

Has anyone tried these axles on E-bay?

It says that the brand is "Major Brand", what ever that is? I did a online search and came up with nothing. It says they are 25% stronger then stock, yet these are the cheapest axles I have found. Cheaper doesn't always mean bad... Does it? Here is a link to those axles. He SEEMS to know...
