I have seen posts about changing the gas caps to a flip style, a more modern with a door, but I wondered if this would work. Remove the "handle" on the cap and add some finger grooves. Do you think there would be enough "leverage" to open the cap this way? I need to find a spare cap to try. :)...

Since I got my car the column shifter has been like this. I assume there is a spring that keeps the shifter forward? I think there is a roll pin that holds the shifter on, do I pound it out and does the spring go in somewhere there? I do have a parts car that I can use. thanks.

My car last year would pick and choose when the guage worked. Well I just got around to testing it. I believe when you ground out the sender wire the guage should go to full, which it did. So I checked the sender unit and I believe it should read around 9 ohms with a full tank, it got no reading...

I fired up the Valiant yesterday and when I turned the fan on, "steam" came pouring out of it and it smelt like antifreeze. Is this a sign of a bad heater core? Can it be fixed? Any write-ups on the web for changing it if this is what it is? thanks.
