Vehicle security for long road trip

My wife and I are taking one of our Darts on a long distance road trip (2 months) this summer and plan to do the same in 2024. I am looking for people's experiences with various types of security systems for cars. I am particularly concerned about being parked outside hotels at night or in a...

why don't people like helicoiled bolt holes in intakes

I have seen several ads and posts that make a big deal about the bolt holes not being helicoiled in an intake manifold. I don't get it. I've had many manifolds that have carb stud holes helicoiled and even one that had the themostat housing holes done and never had a problem out of them, what...

WARNING - AMD oil filler caps

Not for the first time, I left the oil fill cap on a 318 somewhere after topping off fluids and it disappeared. I shelled out the money to get a cap from AMD since this is a car shown in stock classes and I didn't want to fight getting paint to stick on a chrome cap. I got the cap (Jegs) and...

    1970-71 Dart GT Thread

I'm really missing the 1970-71 Dart GT registry that Mr. Budnick, God rest his soul, used to maintain. I'm not wanting to recreate the registry (although I wish someone would), but thought I would give a try starting a thread about these cars. I'll start off in the next post with a few pics of...

    left over parts

I'm putting my 1970 Dart GT back together and came up with two little brackets that don't have a home. Judging by the bin they were in they should be part of the dash, but could have gotten tossed in the wrong one. They are just bent flat black steel.

best collector car/hot rod insurance company?

I'm thinking of making some insurance changes, including new insurance for my Darts. What has been people's experiences with any of them (Hagerty, Grundy, JC Taylor, etc.) and what restrictions are on your policy (mileage, type of use, etc)? Have you had good or bad claims experiences?

looking for bio on Don Grotheer

In the 60s and 70s Don Grotheer raced stock, super stock and finally ProStock in a variety of Plymouth products, including being one of the original 68 Hemi Cuda racers. I'm looking for a brief biography: cars campaigned, major races/titles won etc. I've tried on the usual internet searches...

    Die Hard commercial - 1970s

I've been looking for a video of a commercial that I remember from the 70s - It was about a young guy loaning his late 60s Barracuda to his dad because the old guy's battery was dead.. The car was a wicked 4 speed car and the end shows his dad lurching a squealing down the road on the...
