    Rocker shaft bolts

Any other people here have a problem shearing rocker shaft bolts when torquing to 30 #'s? I've busted a few of them and I know the torque wrench is accurate. Also need a source for some new ones at a reasonable price.

    Viton seals

I built a 273 and the guy who did my heads installed new valve guides, new valves, new springs and cut the valve bosses for Viton seals. It only has a few thousand miles and smokes when I let off the gas. I pulled the plugs and it looks like 3 cylinders on the right bank and 1 on the left are...

    New engine blowby

I recently rebuilt a 273 and had a multitude of problems with carburetion and timing. I finally got it to run and fixed my timing issue with a new distributor. I ran it at about 2500 rpm for about 30 mins to break in the cam and drove it about 40 miles, with 18" flexpipe on the stock manifolds...

    New engine problems

OK guys, I'm looking for some ideas. I just rebuilt a 65 273. It has a mild Camcraft cam with solid lifters, all new mild performance springs, new stock valves etc. It's been changed over to an electronic ignition. I have a D4B manifold with an adapter for a 2 bbl as that's all I have to play...

    Starter interchange

Anyone do a /6 to V-8 conversion and use the /6 starter successfully. All I can find for the difference is a small amperage upgrade on the V-8 starter. I'm spinning a flat top 273 I've rebuilt but haven't fired yet.

    Hardened seats?

I'm rebuilding a '65 273 and am having the heads redone with new valves and springs. I've been talking with the guy who will do the heads and we've been trying to figure out if it pays to put hardened seats in the exhausts or not. I've heard that the Mopar heads had a high nickel content and...

    Too tight??

I had my block bored .040 over and have installed new pistons and rings. When I installed the crank it rotated with ease. As I intalled each piston, the crank got progressively harder to turn until when the 8th piston went in I couldn't turn it with an 18 inch combination wrench on the crank...
