The A engine A body right is different than the B and E body right these pictures show how. If this is old news it’s not intentional I believe that there’s some confusion and would just like to help.

Assuming the side holes align I don't see why one couldn't drill the needed holes in the flat section to convert one to the other

B-E is not as long as A look at tape.

I see it now, it was hard to see the way you measured it. Are the holes at the same angle relative to the flat? (ie. would a 1/4"shim compensate?)

American made car you know 3/8” 1/2” 9/16” no metric crap here. Go buy a toyota use your metrics on that.
Like everything else, once you get used to it it's easy. I use both on cars and in my work
Drill correct biscuit holes and shims work just fine.
