Why am I having a hard time finding a new screen filter for a 1/2" sending unit? All I see are 3/8 and 5/16.

I had to make my own.

I don’t have a part number but try searching eBay, Amazon, summit or jegs, Mancini or hughes

Make a cage out of screen. You just need to stop large pieces of debris that may get into the tank from blocking the end of the tube. Put and inline filter before the pump.

Put a filter before and after your fuel pump. You don't need a sock filter in the tank if you have that, and I wouldn't rely on one of them for that purpose anyhow.

You can install Holley's Hydromat and gain the benefit of a 10 micron filter and enhanced fuel pick-up at lower fuel levels if you have the $. The smaller ones are less expensive and still work well.

Yup, I have a filter before the electric pump under the rear axle hump and another one before the carb.
