Last Saturday, one of my sons and wife blessed us with a beautiful granddaughter.

One floor up, - my other son was fighting cancer, - we lost him today .

Parents shouldn't outlive their children .

I’m so sorry to hear about your son losing his battle with cancer!
Prayers for your family at this time! So very sad!

So sorry for your loss.

Not going lie, I've come about as close to dying as a fella can come.
The thought of losing a child or grandchild scares me way more than that experience ever did.

Thanks for sharing... it's a long damn road as you try to move forward from the loss of a child, but if ya want to chat, I'm always around. Usually hiding in my shop, 9 years later.

Im so sorry for your families loss. You are right, parents shouldnt outlive their children. My wife lost a son to cancer in his early 20s, and being a parent myself, I just cant imagine that kind of pain. Love your new grandaughter as much as you can while you can.

Man, was a conflicting set of events to deal with.
How do you balance happiness for the newborn while dealing with the grief of losing another loved one ?
We sure can be tested sometimes.
RIP to the son, cheers for the new arrival.

Man. That's rough, living both ends of the spectrum in the same day. My condolences on your son. Cancer is a horrid thing. And yet, the sun rises on a new grandchild to bring joy. A bittersweet day for sure.

My deep sympathies, that is tough.

I lost a cousin when we were both about 26, had a great wife and two young daughters.

Years later my cousin's sister lost a son just barely 18 or 19. He had fought leukemia all his short life

I am so very sorry for your loss.
I have friends that have suffered such a loss, and they tell me they just have to go on, but it is so very, very hard. I can not imagine.

Oh wow....cancer sucks big time! My condolences to you and the rest of the family and congratulations on the new addition!!
