I was looking for a bearing dust cover for my 10" drum brake Dart.
I looked at Rock Auto and on Dorman's website and both sites say 618-100 (13976) is the correct cap.
The specs show it is 1.6 OD
Well when it got here from Rock Auto.
You know it, it did not fit. Way too small.
Maybe it fits the 9" drum brake hub.
I started searching FABO, should have done that first! And found 618-101 has an OD of 1-25/32" (1.781") I popped a cap off my other 67 with disk and guess what 1.780"-1.781" OD.
Arrrg!
The factory parts book calls out 1613 416 as the dust cap for 10" and 11" brakes across all car lines except imperial, 9" has a different part number.
The Dorman reference says 618-100 (13976) is the replacement for 1613416.
I did a return at Rock Auto and they want me to pay return shipping or take a refund of 50% of the total. Their reasoning... they did not make a mistake. But neither did I, I ordered the only cap that came up as compatible with 67 Dodge Dart in their catalog.
I opted for the 50% as the shipping would be about the same.
I emailed Dorman requesting they update their catalog and asked for a free 616-101 cap be sent to me due to their catalog mistake.
Well what do you know, they are sending me 2!
My faith is restored in Dorman.
Hopefully they will update their catalog.
