10 in drums

-
Same deal on my 65 Dart w/ 10" drums. With new shoes and new hardware kit, the old drums would just barely slide on. I might have used the old adjusters which were slightly shorter (forgot). I suggest sliding the drums on and pushing the pedal real hard (engine running if a booster). That might seat the shoes at the top more. If not, drive it a 1/2 mile or so using the brakes to help seat the shoes. If it still binds, file the metal on the shoe contact points as suggested.

Thanks Bill, Hopefully Monday will allow me some time to try that.

I had a problem just like yours. My original brake shoes that came with the car had 9" return springs on 10" shoes. Took a while to figure out. If your springs are in the top hole of the shoe they are 9" springs.

Out of town on business. Next Monday will be home and hopefully can check this issue out.
