My 8.75 3rd member (742 unit) has a 1330 yoke on it. How does that compare to the 7260/90 yokes?

I have a driveshaft with the 7260 joints on both ends and I am trying to figure out if it makes more sense to get a conversion u joint, or have a new driveshaft built for the 7290 or this 1330 yoke I have.

Current engine is a 273stock motor so fairly mild.

Thanks. CE

I run a 7260 to 1330 on my car with no issues. Summit has them and it's cheaper than buying a new yoke or drive shaft.

That is probably what I'll end up doing.

I'm just trying to figure out if the 1330 is more like the 7260 or the 7290.

I looked up some measurements and it seems like it would be more in the 7260 arena.

1330 cup is the same size, width is wider. Mopar used the 1330 on lighter cars in the 60s.

Spicer 1330 is nearly the same as the detroit 7290. Spicer 1310 would be like the detroit 7260.
Detroit like Saginaw were companies spun off by Dodge and GM and made slight changes to what are really Spicer joints. All they did were use inside clips and add a 16th/32nd to cap diameters.
Then AAM bought both of them and plays the same way.

Supershafts,

That is really helpful. It is precisely the opposite of what I thought!

So if I was to build a 7290 drive shaft (all I have are 7260's right now) the 1330 wouldn't be the "weak link"?

Thanks again,

CE
