Hey I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on this. I picked up a 64 pushbutton trans based upon a friend telling me it would work with my floor shift in my barracuda. I was then told by a reputable mopar wrecking yard that I would have to swap the valve body for it to work on a 65. Does anyone know for sure ?.....thanks in advance.

Both 64/65 had cable actuated trans whether push button or floor shift. Mopar did not change setup until 66 so you should be fine.

I believe if you use the correct cables for your shifter (floor or dash) you should be fine.

Not the same----do a search-- the 65's were 1 year only-- extra position on the selector, you can swap valve bodies & make them work---
there is a difference.

Yep, I just went from a 65 floor shift tranny to a 64 push button car. Just a valve body swap to make it work.
