I have the chance to buy a centerline drag pack in 5x4 pattern for a decent price, but I wanted to make sure they fit before I pull the trigger, does anyone know if a 8.5 inch wide rear will fit on a 1965 dodge dart without cutting the wheel wells or moving the springs? As far as I can tell the offset on the centerline is around 4.5 inches or so.

Full disclosure, I just bought this car and I did not put these wheels on. The previous owner told me that the wheels are 15 x 8 center lines on all four corners. The rim of the wheel itself is very close to the leaf spring(stock location) and it looks like they massaged the inner lip of the 1/4. Again, this is all speculation from my limited observation. But it’s a 65 with 15x8 centerlines! Tires are 245/60r15 BFG T/A’s

I see what you mean about the springs, the tire is clearing it but just barely, my question is how much room on the actual lip of the rim to the spring is there? I have what I believe to be a 14x8 inch on the car right now and I've got like 2 inches of clearance to the springs, so I think I can pull it off but I don't want to spend the cash if they won't fit

REAL centerlines? If so they were available in two backspaces for 8.5x15. 3 5/16, and 4 7/8. The 3 5/16 will not fit, at least not with a proper sized tire for the wheel width.
The 4 7/8 version is what is seen above, and will either be very close to the spring, or rub, depending on how much tire you use.
I am using 15x8.5 with 4 7/8 bs on my 62 savoy, with 10.5" slicks, but I had to make some (approximately) 3/8 spacers to get the tire off the springs.
If they are something other than 15x8 1/2, or CL copies, all bets are off.
Frankly, I think a 15x7 on the rear, and a 15x5 (both CL sizes) will fit better and easier. Good luck!
(I currently own 8 pairs of real centerlines in various styles and sizes, 15x3s 15x5, 15x8.5, 15x10.5, 15x12, 15x14, 16x9, and four different bolt patterns)

they are stamped centerline in the face of the wheel so i figure they are real, as far as the offset they look like the 4 7/8th but I haven't measured them yet. I also have some spaces for them in case I need them, I'm not planning on running anything crazy wide, just something with a decent amount of meat to them, like what midnight is running.

7's with a 4.25 backspace or there abouts will work well. An 8" wheel had better have the perfect backspace. One side of the car usually has more room than the other. The only thing you can do with the wheel lip is to trim or roll the edge.

I'm not real worried about the wheel lip as long as I size the tire right, it's jacked up in the reR pretty far, but if I need to trim it I will

I didn't see what tire size you are looking at. Both of these are 15x7's with a 4" backspace. The black wheels have 225-70's and the aluminum wheels are 235-70's. There is about 1" of space on the spring side and 1 1/2 on the quarter panel side. I would rather have a little extra clearance than rub everytime I go around a corner.

Well those are rubbing pretty hard on the quarters! Nice sidewall cheese grater action there.

How close are the tires to the spring perch and is it an issue for you? I'm looking into tires now and I'm thinking about a 235/60/15, but I like the look of the 245s more.

Been a minute but I wanted to give an update, finally got around to picking up tires and test fitting my wheels, went with a 235 60 15. Fits great, I have about a half inch to the spring and a good 3/8 to the fender, and it fills up the fenders nicely.
