I have just been to Nats in 2008 and it was great but I was told from vendors and car owners that Carlisle that i was way better organized compared to Nats. But leave it there for a month would be the way to go. It just gonna be some more flights.....! BUt it would be great to stay for a month. Both I have some family commitments too!

Don't leave your car bring it on! It is always up to the owner to do what he or she think is the best re their car. So bring her with you! If your car are the ones in your avatar they look really good. I like the old vintage dragrace style!

I started with the left rear quarter panel tonight. Yez, two hours!

Took my door hinges apart. I will glass bead them and the shop called me today and and the bushings will be ready on Friday. Then I can assembly them this weekend.

Today I continued with the body so it's just some small areas of the roof left. Then it's the door, fender, trunk and the hood. THen were done!

Got two packages yesterday. Thanks 66340sedan for the tips. The positive battery cabel was great. I need to do some small changes but I'm pretty sure it will turn out ok. THe other package was the camshaft. Next week I will start to assemble the rest of the engine. Can hardly wait.......!

So if some one needs an orginal camshaft for a 273 HP engine, give Egge a call. They have it!

Got up at 6.30 AM this morning! Sometimes I just can get why the hell I'm doing this! But I guess it is worth it. I hope!

Did the rest of the body so now that's been taken care of. Started to assemble the camshaft, lifters, push rods and the valve train. Even had time to get the timing cahain stuff in place. All NOS! Found in Norway 12 years years ago!!! Small world I guess!

Now it start's to look good. But when I was on the way to put on the intake manifold I found out that the gaskets on ench end was probably made of cork. Checked out my two unrestored cars and asked some FABO members so now I know it's made of cork.

So one set of those would be great.

Two hours ago the door was the goal. Hope I can make it until 6 PM!

the gaskets should be cork, atleast the three 273's Ive opened have been.....2-66 HP's, and 1-66 LP

Good news! The gasket was made out of cork. And yes, a nice gentlemen here on FABO had it so he's going to send it to me. Wow!

So once again FABO lived up to it's name, the best Abody website in the world!

That car is sure making some fine progress! I don't know if you have ever used a reloading case tumbler (rock tumbler) for cleaning the small stuff like those bolts but I picked up a cheap one off E-bay a few years back and use it when I have a handful of small stuff like bolts to clean. Walnut shell media takes a while but the screws and bolts come out looking like they are brand new. Something to consider.....

Do you have a picture of yours?

OK guys! The body is done, the fenders are done and the doors are done. It seems that I forgot about the trunk and the hood!!!!! Started out with the NOS trunk lid tonight. I thought it was in mint condition! First of all I found some weird paint on it. And a couple of small dings and a small part that was bent. Hmm, will continue tomorrow to see what it's all about.

Found the gasket for the transmissioncase too. Will put that together tomorrow too. Too tired now! Got up at 4AM!

Sorry for the delay in posting a photo of my reloading tumbler. I also occasionally use a tumbler from my kids rock polishing kit but it is in the shed and I don't want to shovel snow to get to it. It's a rotary drum style. This one is a vibratory model. They both work well but the kids didn't used to want me tying up their tumbler. There are several types of polishing media available but I usually use the walnut shell pieces. I just throw in a handful of bolts and screws and a day or so later they look like new ones. Occasionally I come across some bolts with stubborn paint so I throw them in a cup of paint stripper, pull 'em out and when they're dried I toss 'em back in the tumbler. Then they come out looking good.

Beware..as a parent of a kid that liked to use her tumbler..leave it in the garage or far away when it is in action..the sound at night will drive you nutz :) ..we put ours in the basement with a stryofome (sp ?) cooler over it..no joy..

If it cleans the nuts/bolts like it does rocks..it ill be awesome...and thnks for the tip.

ian.

Thanks for the tips guys. I called some companies here in Sweden today and it seems like it's possible to get one here too! I'll keep my kids out of the garage.

I added the front cover today and the waterpump to the engine block. Looks good! And the bolts all have the right finnish too.....! I didn't forgot to add the timing piece as well as the clip for the fuel line.
