Up for sale is a project car I acquired last fall. It’s a ‘65 Dart GT 225 auto that’s been sitting since 2001 until last year.
Currently located in Burlington NC 27249
The fellow I got it from, in trade, is the one who purchased from the owner who has owned it since the late ‘90s.
When retrieved from its resting place, the engine was seized, brakes trashed, front windshield busted and interior cooked out of it nearly.
The engine was replaced with a lower mile rebuild 225. It is an ‘80s era engine with the hydraulic cam setup. It has an original rebuilt Holley 1bbl carb, intake and linkage is also correct for the car as well as the original transmission.
The rearend has been swapped with a mid ‘70s 8.25” rearend with 10x2.5 brakes and big bolt pattern axles. Open diff, highway gears. The brakes have been completely rebuilt only reusing the original drums after having them turned. New wheel cylinders, shoes, springs, hoses, etc..
The front brakes have been converted to disc brakes and are also big bolt pattern. New upper control arms with new upper ball joints and new KYB shocks. Also has a new dual pot master cylinder with power brake booster and a proportioning valve.
Inside the car, the front bucket seats have been re-foamed and recovered.
The dash pad is junk, but currently has a dash cap placed over it. The car will come with a much better dash pad to attach the dash cap too and install in the car.
Rear seat is original and in good shape.
Rear package shelf has been replaced with new.
New carpet, rather poorly installed.
Sound deadening installed under the carpet and on the roof.
Drivers side floor pan was patched by the previous owner.
Car comes with a brand new set of Legendary Door panels front and rear.
Car also comes with a new headliner ready to install.
Front windshield was replaced using a new gasket.
Car has a new gas tank and sending unit.
Newer 15” tires.
Runs, drives and stops well.
Any trim missing in the pics comes with the car. I’ve got a big pile of stuff that goes with it.
Needs somebody to take it to the next level.
