i'm partial to the chrome 273 charger/commando air cleaner.

i think that's what ma mopar would've used as they had it and it flows well for what it is.

I agree. It's one of the best looking air cleaners ever. Probably too small for a high horsepower motor, but more than enough for a less than 300 cube motor. Shoot, Chrysler put them on some four barrel big blocks in the early sixties - 361s all the way up to 413s (only they were painted black, not chromed) .

nothing stopping you from cutting a big ol' honking hole in the back to free up some HP. nobody'll ever see it back there.

I was working through the oil filter arrangement. With these short headers, what kind of oil filter relocating kits should I use?
Any suggestion?

i *think* you should be able to sneak a stock 90* filter adapter in there. you'll need the one specific to early A's so it doesn't interfere with the frame rail.

if not a "sandwich" style relocater/adapter and mount that puppy wherever you so desire.

In keeping with your Chrysler factory/Offenhauser theme, and what was available to use at the time, I would pursue these options:
The factory remote oil filter system used on Australian/S. African/British RHD Chrysler products.

Kind of an awkward setup, but they already had it in the parts bin...
There were also similar remote oil filter setups used by Chrysler Marine and Chrysler Industrial.
Otherwise, a remote like this would be a nice accent to the Offenhauser air cleaner you may be using:

OTB Gear 6547 Remote Oil Filter Adapter, Finned, Unpolished
On the engine side, block/plug the filter center bolt hole, remove the existing pipe plug, and tap the remaining hole to 3/8 NPT and you have your oil feed and return ports, no adapter needed. Just run hose or braided line from the tapped ports with the fittings of your choice, probably 45s, to wherever you want to mount the remote filter.

Today I was able to add the bellhousing so I can start building the cart for the combo.
Next is to start building and measureing the cart. Wheels is ordered.
