3Row Radiator For 63-1969 Dodge Dart/Charger/Mopar Cars Plymouth Fury 22"W #1635 | eBay This EXAMPLE is not so salty. Do your homework. Make sure you get one that is correct for your transmission and easy to mount with the radiator hoses in the right spot.

It's supposed to be 22 wide by 16 high for the radiator core which is what I have

The opening in the core support is the same between the 6cyl and 8cyl. It's just the non-A/C 6 cylinders that have a 19" wide core. They just have a wider bracket on one side to take up the extra space.

So it does matter? For instance what if this was a 6 to 8 swap by a previous owner? If that were the case would a V8 radiator work in a /6 opening!

Yes, just use the V8 version of the radiator.
