I finally found one of the cars I have been looking for most of my adult life; a 1965 Valiant/Barracuda. It is the base model with 273 V8 2 barrel, automatic with floor console shifter, radio delete, no power steering or brakes, just the basics. And the build date is 7/20 which is my birthday (I was born in 1962). It was located about 2 1/2 hours from home, so an easy transport home on my trailer. Here's some pictures. This car was purchased new in El Paso, Texas. The original owner had it until 2020 when it was purchased by a man in Cloudcroft, NM about 100 miles away. It now lives with me in Truth or Consequences, NM about 160 miles from Cloudcroft and 110 from El Paso. It also came with the original invoice from the dealer when the orig owner purchased it on Sept 21, 1965. Body is 95% rust free, a couple of small spots coming through the paint on the lower rear quarters, undercarriage is clean and rust-free also, one of the benefits of being a desert SW car all its life. The price was right where it should be for its condition according to Old Cars price guide.

Very cool car. Jealous of you folks out there in dry climates.

273 original to the car plus the floor shift was an upgrade at the time....

Nice nice

I rode in a car much like that one just on Sunday. A buddy God it for his daughter and took me for a spin in it. The best part was running out of gas about 1/4 mile from his house.
It was honestly an awesome ride. I'm a bit jealous.
