Hello There,

As you know, the Valiants come with 13" wheels on 5x4. Obviously, those wheels in any size in that pattern are hard to find. I see that some are using 14" or even 15" Cragars on 5 x 4 pattern. My question is can I use 5 x 100 which is very close. I want to increase my choices for wheels. I like the larger size 15" which look better in my opinion.

There still is wheels that are still available in the 5 X 4 pattern, even coys up to 17". I wouldn't put the 5 100 wheels on my car as these are mostly for front drive cars and the offset is wrong and you might have ball joint clearance problems. There is usually 14" ralleys for sale on here.

100 mm is not 4 inches 4 inches =101.6 MM. Does not seem like much of a difference, but I would have to think you would have stud breakage problems.

Yes that is correct. 4 inches is not 100 mm. 4 inches Divided by .0393701= 101.5994.
.0393701 is the magic number when working back, and forth between metric, and standard inches, and feet.

I've never run any, but did slip a set of 5x100mm on just to see how they looked. They did fit..

Honestly, if you care going to spend a nickel on aftermarket wheels, swap to 4.5" and be done with it. You'll be glad you did. You can get any wheels you want with any backspace you can dream of.

They sell all kinds of adapters now. Once you have those your choices are unlimited without the expense of changing bolt patterns, but backspacing will always need to be watched. If you car is stock you'll have no problems. If your car is a 100 hp monster launching on drag slicks I would not use the adapters ever. :)

You are going to have problems...

1. For starters you'll need a ton of backspacing, again limiting the availability of wheels.

2. Saying wheels adapters are a weak link is just nonsense. The only ones worth running are billet adaptors. Take a close look at diesel dually trucks (that often make over 1,000 RWH and ft/lbs) Spacers all the way around. The weak link is going to be the stock axles, gears, driveshaft and tranny.

These are junk but this will get you to a 4.5" pattern

Awesome Alan. Congratulations on your new wheels. How about posting a picture. I wouldn't mind a set of craters on my barracuda, but would really love to find a set of old school chrome reverse wheels
