Ok guys, next on my list is what about an exhaust system on this car. 1966 Valiant 200 4 door slant 6 . Only place I found that has an exhaust system is ebay. $ 375 + $65 shipping. Kinda high in my opinion. Does anybody have part #'s of the 4 pieces that make up this system. Local parts houses dont even have this listed. Only other thing I know is to go to a muffler shop and have it made to fit but checking all options here in advance. I am starting from scratch on this car. It was pretty much a shell when I got it. Thanks in advance, Bill

A good muffler shop should be able to fab one up and install for less than that.

Factory part numbers......front pipe is 2208420 if it's a 170 engine, 2208440 if it's a 225, muffler came in two versions, 2208370 for zinc coated, and 2409125 for aluminized, and the rear tail pipe is 2460833.

Not counting the hangers and hardware, there should only be three sections of that system.

That sounds like a deal to me based on the last 4 systems I have put on V8's at $900+ from Accurate Exhaust! Locally a buddy had a Coronet with a 440 done and it cost over $500. Don't forget EVERYTHING is up at least %30 from 18 months ago like it or not.

You are right. I forget about the plague inflation. That ebay price is a deal.

yeah, its been awhile since I bought exhaust. I found front pipe and tailpipe at accurate for over $400 not counting shipping and muffler somewhere for $100 so I believe I will call the local shop and then maybe get the one on ebay. Thanks,Guys.

Accurate Exhaust can fix you up, but once again, it's not very cheap. Great quality, though.

The Accurate system will fit. The eBay one - you'll be taking a chance (speaking from experience).

And the Accurate pipes will be larger and flow better than the one the muffler shop will want to install. And I've had muffler shop systems that didn't fit real well, either, but of course some are better than others.
