Unfortunately someone crashed into my '65 Barracuda and luckily it's really mostly the fender, but the bumper is bent as well. The chrome on it wasn't great to start with, so I've been looking for a new one for a while. There is currently one on ebay for $650 plus shipping... I don't want to spend that much!

1967-69 Barracuda bumpers are way cheaper and I think it would result in a much sleeker look.

Has anyone ever tried this?

I looked and the '67 Barracuda is about 1-1/2" wider than a '65. That's only 3/4" on each side and negligible. The frame rails should be in the same place on both cars, because you can put a later A-body K-frame on a '65.

I see three options:

A. The mounting holes are magically in the same place and it just bolts on.

B. The mounting holes are in different places and I have to drill/ cut new holes to fit them to my '65 brackets.

C. I'd have to get '67 bumper brackets and I may have to notch the valance in case it interferes.

Does anyone have a '67-'69 bumper and could measure the distance between all mounting holes?

The frame and K-member on 67 and newer are wider than early A-bodies. I think it’s worth a try fitting the 67-69 bumper. Another option is a Camaro bumper (I won’t tell anyone).

Actually, a lot of high end resto shops use 67-67 Camaro bumpers. Are you talking about the 4 mounting holes where the bumper mounts to the brackets? I can give you that in the morning.

I think the Camaro bumper is a bit too pointy and it's even wider, haha. Yeah, if you could measure those 4 spots, that'd be great! Thanks!

I drove mine without a bumper for years, haha. But since this is a daily driven, often street parked car, I need some protection...
65LA- If your brackets might be bent I have 3 of 4 brackets I dont need. You’re welcome to them.i think shipping cost is about the same as a pack of Camels in LA.

I like them bumper deleted like that one 65 show car. Iirc they have fiberglass bumpers available. Just paint it and fill it with rebar and cement....bump me, I dare ya!

@68gtxman Thank you for those measurements! Bummer, the '65 ones are 12.5" on center and 25.5" between them. So I'd either have to drill new holes or make some sort of adapter.

Maybe the 1967 brackets would match up to the 1965 frame? I’ll go out this afternoon and measure them for you.

@65barracudaLA I just measured the frame rail differences. It looks like the 1967 bumper mounts are about 37.5” O.C. and the 1965 is about 34” O.C. I guess that you can use 1967 bumper mounts and use some spacers.

The bumpers on my '66 Barracuda are the worst. Big, ugly, and one year only. Would love to put '67s on there.
