1967 Cuda FB project

You don't mess around do you? It looks nice shaved down. I think the center needs to be there as well.

Thanks for the parts!! Definitely candidates for modification. :D

Blasted the bottom of the Road Runner hood this morning and put Por 15 on it. Will post pics later. Did some more grinding on welds of spoiler too. Have a line on a local hood that can be used for modifying, has hood pin holes in it already.......

****, I might have to start putting engine together soon.............:glasses7:

Have read through your build thread. Impressive, and very quick work. Hope my '67 FB ever turns out half as nice.

You mentioned you are considering chopping the top. I've searched all over the web this morning, but to no avail. When Rad Rides by Troy built George Poteet's '69 Cuda "Blowfish" several years ago, they performed what was probably the simplest top chop I've ever seen. They used to have almost 200 build pictures up, but no more.

They sliced the top of the quarter panels, front to rear, right where the face of the sail panel transits from "vertical" to "horizontal". The "A" pillars had a section removed, probably 1-1/2" or so, and then the upper and lower ends were pie-cut to allow for the change of angle of the pillar. Then the entire roof assembly was allowed to simply sink down into the quarters, basically using the dutchmans panel as a hinge point. After that, the slice was closed back up by pushing the sail panel skin back out to the edge of the slice in the quarter panel and welding it up.

I hope my description makes sense.

No updates for a few days. Your not stuck under the car are you?
I had to post something to keep you up close to the top of the page. L.O.L!!!

Thought about that process but it would change the angle of the side windows. Plus, makes it a little harder to resize the windshield. We will see how far I get and how motivated. lol

Been sick as a dog the last few days. Nasty. Didn't get off the couch for 3 days. Then back went out and made it worse. Still feel like $#!+. Gonna try to get in the shop today, we will see. :protest:

Hopefully you will be on the mend soon.
I've been sick lately as well but mine is due to this dam transmission.
I can hardly sit still. I want to burn some tires off NOW!!!!!!! L.O.L!!!!!

Hey Snake,I posted a pic of the plastic 5.7 Hemi manifold that I have its like the aluminum 6.1 manifold.I posted it on my thread.

Them Zombie gofers probably got to him. John, did you send him a package of gofers in the mail?

No, I think I've figured out his illness though. He's probably sufferin' from eye strain working around all them bright green parts!

So where are some updated pictures? At your normal rate of progress I figure that maybe you got done with the 'Cuda and have already moved on to another project.

Hay Snkebit, You still not feeling well?
Also, I think you mentioned that John was sick as well.
Hopefully you both get on the mend soon or i'm liable to run out of good reading material.

Finally getting back into the swing of things. Whatever that illness was, it sucked. Been putting my Viper back together for a track event next weekend. Running out of time so what time I have spent in the shop has been on that. Yesterday morning there wasn't an engine in the viper. Tonight, I just have to button up starter and few things on bottom side. Then swap out the pads and flush the brake and clutch fluid.

I was just joking with the comment about John being sick. Starting to get a little worried now......:pale:

glad your feeling better and getting back at it.
It has been awhile since he's posted anything. I have talked with him on my build thread once or twice, but other than that He must bee doing some reading of threads after all those long days trying to get that old house back into shape so he can save it from that crooked county or town he lives in.
Anyways, good luck with your Viper track event. Hope it goes well.
