Edelbrock idle set procedure should work pretty good. Modern-day approach to this. Idols cleaner less stink doesn't file plugs.

The original Avs 1 7/16 throttle bore use an idle air assist circuit.to keep throttle blade in correct relation to off idle slot, 0.098 no 40 drill

The large bore AVS 1 + 11/16 did not use the idle air assist holes. A lot of times you will find holes in the throttle plate on Carter original equipment carburetors. The holes are for the same purpose as the Idle air assist passages. Enough air to idle
without the throttle plates being open too far
