1968 barracuda center console

is the center console from a 68 barracuda the same as one used in later a bodies. i am looking at buying one but the guy says no returns so i want to make sure it will fit my 1974 dart before i buy it.

The 68 console is painted silver on top and has a groove down the middle of the top panels which is chrome . 69 and later have solid panels sometimes covered with a stick-on woodgrain. The fit should be the same but the asthetics are not.

That groove cut down the middle is painted black and a dirt/ash collecter.
Also the later model console doors have a push button latch (same as the one in glovebox door)
