Hello. I am new to the MOPAR fascinations, and have included a few pics of my Barracuda. Today's question... Was the original trim piece between the tail lights on the trunk lid red or a golden color?
Thank you.Not sure about the validity of this

Thank you! That metal piece that is Red is the trunk lid. I have seen it painted Red and seen them painted body colour. Either way is good or a personal preference. Some paint it red to match the tail lights
the 3M reflective tape was part of the spring special. otherwise it was body color. If it's original, it's red reflective tape. It looks cracked, so I'm guessing it is. Normally, that part of the deck lid was painted body color on '68s. A couple of special option packages offered the red tape. As small as the '68 taillights are, I think the reflective tape is a good idea.

Thank you, looking it up now.I believe there was an option for 68 cudas and the red "option". Google Hamtramck Historical for a factory option list

Thank you for all of the details. I have alot to do on this car, and this helps me keep the "Factory Original" vision.
Thank you. This is a low mileage, original car. It was still with its first owner very recently. Hopefully still is. The owner may be here on FABO, but I think the picture is from somewhere else.

Post your fender tag and we’ll decide it and see if it originally was a spring special optioned car
