Does anybody in the socal area have a good working cheap complete ready to drop in and use 7 1/4" rear end with 2.94 gears for a 1968 Dart 270 with 273 and torqueflite automatic? This is for a daily driver car that im trying to get back on the road. Not a rich man's hot rod or weekend toy. I would go with an 8 3/4" rear if it's reasonably priced but am not looking to spend $1,800-2k for one. They show up in junkyards now and then. I could buy an entire running 4 dr parts car for that price. Any help would be appreciated. If you have something send me a PM. Thanks.

Hi. My son has a 7 1/4 rearend in his 69 Dart that’s bolt in and ready to go. All work was done last year. It has new wheel cylinders, shoes, and hardware. Both drums were machined and well within specs. Pinion seal and gear oil were replaced. Ring and pinion looked excellent when cover was off. He plans to do a mini-tub, so the rearend will be available. We’re located in Salinas. Let me know if you’re interested. Thanks, Jim.

How do you empty the mailbox here?

Still looking. Thought i found one locally about 10 minutes away but the guy kept jerking me around with excuse after excuse when I tried to make plans to come get it so it's back to square one.
I'm looking for a 2.94 7 1/4" rear for my 68 Dart. Must be one that is good and ready to put in. Must be in *Southern California*. (Anaheim,Inland Empire,Palm Springs,Los Angeles). I kept getting folks in Northern California,Vegas and other places 5 hours or more away one way. Unless you're going to bring it out here I'm not interested in a 10 hour round trip for a rear end most people would dump in a nearby lake to be rid of. Lol.
Don't want 3.23 gears, the car is a stock 273 automatic car used as a daily driver. 2.94 was good on the freeway and in the city.
If you have one send me a PM,don't reply here.

I got a 2.76 with one busted axle bearing, just swap one side out of your old rear, you can have it for free

They are out there. Just don't meet your location criteria. I have one, but in Florida.
Do you think maybe you could go to the Miami Seaqaurium, tie it to Flippers back and ship it me via Dolphin? I can pay you in sardines.

for what it's worth, 2.76 vs 2.94 is about 150 RPM distance at 70 mph (2600 RPM calculates to 69.5 mph with a 26.4" tire in 3rd and a 2.94, 2450 RPM calculates to 69.7 mph for the same tire.
