1968 Dart Tail Stripe with Letters

I have a '68 Dart GT and I'm getting it ready for paint. I want to add a tail stripe, but I have the "DART" letters on the quarters where the stripe will go. I'm wondering if it'll look OK with the letters over the stripes, or if I should weld up the holes.
