I agree I was blew away that he messaged me back so quickly. I normally dont do business on weekends but I figured I'd go ahead and shoot him a message and he could get back to me on Tuesday or Wednesday (I planned on ordering on Thursday when I get paid) and he messaged me back within minutes!
 
Just an update for myself showing the rear tail pipes and tail panel. Wanted to see if @partsmonsta Is still restoring these tail panels.

On your valve covers, you added the tabs? 69 had the wire holder only on pass side. Or did it have holder and the tabs?

Thank you. I currently have 69 valve covers on. I replaced the broken tabs. I just got a set of 68 valve covers I need to fix up. Took me a long time to find a set.

Yes he replied with a quote. I’ll get in touch with him again when the time comes. Reasonable price IMO. I’ve seen very nice work from him based on the pictures he sent me of a 68 and 69 gts panel.

Sorry, but my IN BOX is not full, dunno why you guys are having a problem. I'm a Gold Member, we get more memory.
You're welcome to send it. It is 600 + 49 shipping/ 55 to West Coast.
I will need a month to complete. Panels take extra time to massage the metal...there is alot of it.
But the good thing is...the GT Panels are WAY nicer once resto'd than the GTSs.

In the photo of the sanded engine bay, is that as far down as you went and sprayed the epoxy over the old primer and paint or did you go to the bare metal everywhere? The reason I ask is I'm doing the exact same thing with spi epoxy and I have been sanding myself to death trying to get everything down to bare metal if I can just sand the surface and spray it it would save me alot of work. Spi tech line told me to finish with 180 grit can i spray it over the old paint/primer as long as it's sanded?
 
I believe that it depends on the type of paint or primer you are going over. Laquer and un catalyzed enamal lifts if I remember correctly @Jim Kueneman could tell ya a bit more as he uses SPI to good affect

Barry told me the same thing. Basically sanded everything to 180 to get all the rough spots smoothed out. My original paint was in decent shape and I felt good about going over it with SPI. I wet sanded with 400 then sprayed an epoxy sealer coat before my single stage
 
The areas that are bare metal were areas of minor surface rust. I removed any and all rust in those areas and widened my sanding margins as well, especially around the master cylinder.

Man I wish I would have read this beforehand I could have saved myself alot of sanding lol. I still have alot rough spots to sand out. I started sandblasting and the bare metal has started surface rusting in between sanding sessions. I wish I has a place inside to work on it. I dont have enough time to do it all at one time and nowhere to store it inside so its alot of going back and resanding section I have already sanded lol
