Hi,
I´m building a `68 SS/B Barracuda for Show and Nostalgia Racing
First I was gonna use the older type of distributor, but since the splitter didn´t fit, I have to use a slightly newer aluminum house one.
As for the Ignition Control Unit, I suppose the 534 Chrome Box is the one to chose with the Crane R290 camshaft. (7-8000 rpm). The TIS is out of question.
But I have also heard some is not very impressed with the newer version chrome box... What do you say... Is it god enough for some Nostalgia Racing? Or should I try something else?
I have had good luck finding used old parts in vary good shape, and might even find the chrome box originally made by Chrysler.
Also what coil to use? Has to be the round type used on the original SS cars.
So question is, what Electronic Ignition System to use on this Show Racer...
Thank You, Stefan

does it need to be period correct, theres some stuff out there if you want period correct like ebay,i run a msd 7al-3 with this set up

This was the Prestolite 'transistorized' ignition box used on the '68 Hemi cars. Good luck finding one. Just use an MSD and forget about it.

Thank you guys for your input.
I have been evaluating this back and fourth for quite some time now. And I will stick with the EIS, mostly since it is superior the TIS, even if it wasn´t introduced until 1972, and it´s my luck the Blue Box was placed on the other side of the firewall, otherwise I would have jumped on this parts... Thanks rmchrgr...
Yes the looks is important, but can I get away with thinks, like a slightly bigger camshaft, and tucked away control box, I do it... :)
Picture is of what I´m going to use, and show splitter I have, doesn´t fit the older type distributor.
