The 440 is a pretty big motor. Probably built up bigger than anything that Mopar had to offer back in the 60's or 70's. So while I do agree that the OEM radiator can get the job done, it is likely pushing 50 years old and you might not want to push that old radiator to it's physical limits as well as what if it just ISN'T enough volume to handle a hefty built 440? What if the new 440 wasn't built with the same Mopar specs as the original? If you replace it with a new copper brass 3 row radiator, you could easily be spending $500 for a radiator that falls just a tad short of the capacity needed to be completely comfortable in all driving situations and temperatures. My point is that there are a lot of factors that could put the OEM rad beyond it's original intent and therefore lead to an annoying situation. You need to at least consider a bigger radiator while taking into consideration all these other factors.
I do completely agree with keeping the OEM style shroud and mechanical fan if you've already got it. If the radiator is the capacity of the Cold Case unit made for the Mopars, that's all you need to replace.
