1969 Dodge Dart GTS

Love that New SRT8 Rob. Take your time with the dart. I always wanted a new Challenger SRT but instead I did the hemi swap into my 66 Satellite thats still not finished.

Thanks man I will take time with it. I moved it this weekend so they can start the garage. You going to start a build thread on the 66 Satellite? I would love to see that. 5.7 or 6.1?

I have a 5.7 out of a 05 Ram Truck, and the T56 out of a 2000 z28. I kinda moved it to the back burner when I my littlest one was born back in July. I work on it when ever I get a chance. Which isnt too often now.

Go get em Rob, owning your own business is what most of us only dream about. I've been running a side business for about 12 years now and just as soon as I can retire, it's all in full time. Good Luck! PS, I love 6 barrels.....
Martin

Thanks Martin, I had to put that idea on the back burner since I got a full time gig in my field. Either way it is good money and 5-7 days a week. Yeah I was thinking the Dart wouldn't be interesting after getting the SRT8 but it is just a different car with different characteristics and feelings. I still have a passion for it. Can't wait for my garage to be done so I can get back to it.

You are so right Rob. The SRT8 is a total different beast, it's like driving your living room on steroids but I always enjoy jumping back in the Dart and hearing her start up.

Got a set of the old Hughes 1.5 rocker arms brand new then bought the new Hughes shafts with the extra oiling grooves. I also picked up some of their hold downs, rocker spacers and studs. All in all $400 and they have the correct ball tip that will fit the pushrods I got from mopardude318. They were on his 318 with RHS heads and should be a perfect fit for my 402 stroker motor.

Also got some progress on the garage. Flattening it out right now and did the walls. Next they will do the floor and the driveway. The garage will go up next. I will get a pic of the view, it is amazing of Mt Tam.

Picked up some seats from a 68 Barracuda. They are way better shape then mine. I already have new foams and correct patterned 69 dart GTS seat vinyl. I am just going to recover these even though they are in great shape.

Question can I leave them without headrests or would that be incorrect. I have headrests from my other seats can I put them on these seats?

Any progress on the garage?

Yeah almost done just waiting on the Custom Garage Door we had to order. They are almost done painting it on the inside too. We did a bunch of work to the house pretty happy.

Martin enlighten me on the Lokar set up?
Hey Rob,
I used the Lokar throttle cable and kick down cable. I had to make one bell crank to fit the center carb, other than that it was pretty much bolt on. I have not run it yet, so I'm sure adjustments will be needed. Here are some pics.

Oh cool. Looks good. I am running a 4 speed so no kick down needed.
Great, then the throttle cable will be a breeze, you won't need to make a bell crank at all, it will clip to the top of the center carb bell crank. It already has a hole in it, just bolt the stud in and clip the cable end on.

Garage is done. I just put up shelving and cleaned up all my stuff that was outside for 2 years. I have to have the Dart towed back in. I bought some really nice taillight lenses and housings for 40 bucks.
