The first fish we picked up back in 2008, this is a 69 barracuda Formula S, came with a 383 and an auto on the floor. Interior was ivy green (seats and carpet) while the exterior was also F8 Ivy Green Metallic. This 5 year resto story that had a grocery list of surprises (good and bad) is almost coming to an end, heres where we are at. We have used a place called auto image; based out of camarillo CA, to do all of our metal and paint work. Also a special thanks to Gary flowers in Northern CA who has supplied us with most of the original sheetmetal we needed.

Back in 08 in our alley the car sat

Auto Image stripped the car down, took to sand blaster (took the blasters 3 go rounds to get it right for our resto guy). The car was primered black and sat on a rotisserie untill last summer.

Gave them extra parts they requested, a whole new *** end of a 69 fastback, passenger door, inner fenders, etc. But most of the body was in really good shape it was more of a preference thing with his body guy. This was in August of last year and we walked in February to see the progress....

The front needed some work

Overview of the car, progressed pretty well besides the front end

Rear tail light housing, quarter and behind the bumper was pretty messed up from a previous accident and the repair was horribly done. (hard to see I know)

Heres the progress as of yesterday

He reshaped the complete housing and fixed the bracket behind it

Fixed lower quarter

Fabricated the lower exaust cut outs for it, our original *** end had them but this one only had the passenger side for some reason

Matched the lines on the rear drivers side to match the passengers side

Progress on the front, still waiting for inner fenders gave him oem ones that turned out not so well in his opinion.

My dad to the left and the owner, Marcus on the right. Inner fenders and a few tiny things and this thing will be ready for paint.

The new toy we bought from WA aka fish # 2(69 440 Cuda' with a hell of a history), we had it shipped to auto image so the team could get every detail they wanted to know about or answer any question they had.

Before we left yesterday we got a set of wheels for our troubles, and numerous amounts of checks.

Looks good! Mine is f8 as well. Im confused is it 69 or 67?? 1st pic is a 67 front end
Funny story the car was in a front end accident sometime in its life and was put back together with a 67 hood, 68 passenger fender and 67 front end pieces. Its not really all that funny it was expensive as hell to buy the original pieces especially that dang nose piece. We made our first mistake in buying alot of these parts we accrued over the years from a guy named Darryl Finch in phelan CA.

Love that 440 car!! Is the 383 car going back to F8?
Yeah it had such a history and so much paperwork when we bought it, it was first owned by a group of 2 brothers, fights ensued and the 440 ended up in a motorboat that sunk and now theres a 318 in it at the moment, in that picture of the cuda we had it shipped here with a hp2 440 block where the front seat is supposed to go :D and yes we are going back to all original colors.

Plan on bringing either car out the Spring Fling this year?

Very cool cars.

Simi Valley here. We have a few CPW clubmembers in Camarillo.

Where is Auto Image out of?

Very nice car man.

Whats up with the black stripe by the gas cap there on the quarter? It actually looks kinda cool lol

Doubtful we will have the 383 done in time and I think itd take some convincing to get my dad to wanna take out the 440 cuda just because it only has a 318. Id love to bring out my 66 Fury VIP but I haven't really done much in the way of improving it and its still that flat black hot rodded look, debadged/detrimmed and i ran outta money to make better than DD quality(my RSX took it all). Auto image was over there in the industrial buildings off of Adolfo Road on Calle Suerte but moved over across the 101 into another district right off Pleasent valley road. We will most likely attend the spring fling selling off numerous challenger parts that we acquired over the winter at least the one we wont be using (we bought a collectors garage full of OEM and hard to find parts out in Madera).

Lol we had no idea that was out first mopar and we kept on learning from there, my guess is someone wanted a superbee really bad and decided to stripe it accordingly.

I agree.....love the stripe, also the steelies!

Probably wont go back with the stripe :( however both cars will have the matching color formula s wheels

In-progress cars are really neat to see before they are restored.

Thing is, if you just bring the car restored and finished people will just figure you bought it that way. You bring the car "before" they know YOU did something to it. Respect is also very rewarding.

This seamingly clapped out Challenger (Hemi 4spd) got more attention than the restored ones at Fall/Spring Fling the 1st few times it came out. And still gets lots of attention.
