1969 slant6/904 tranny color

what was the color of the 904 tranny behind a slant 6 in a 69 Valiant. was it cast or some other color. thanks

I don't think they ever got painted.

As cast, don't believe any transmissions got painted from the factory.

Lots of rebuild shops would paint the trans,kinda like marking their territory. I have found blue,green,yellow. I worked with a guy at a Mack truck shop that would paint everything "His" blue. That way if there was a come back they knew who did the work.
