Been working on the Scamp. Working on restoring the grill presently. A little bit of patience can go a long way repairing cracks and missing pieces. Here are some pics and I will keep updating on the progress of the car.

I'll probably have to do a little of this when my '72 finally gets torn apart and then put back together...I need to figure out how to straighten out the beams on the '69 Valiant grille I have as a spare.

what are you doing/using to make the repairs?
There is a product from Devcon called plastic weld. Has a 3500psi rating so plenty strong for these repairs. Excellent product! I V the cracks out so it's has a good hold. This stuff is easy to work with and sand but yet very strong. Files work good also.
It can be time consuming I know. It's nice to be able to save it and look at your work when finished.
Very cool. Is it a factory bucket and console car? Rare options in a Scamp. Mine is and had a 318 with an 8 3/4 as well. Anyway, Scamps rock. Good luck with the build.
Yep factory bucket console car. Had a 73 Scamp in High School. I'm excited to get another and Hope to have it done for my 30 year reunion in a couple years.
Would be sweet to drive it to it.

Stay at it, it takes time but it will all be worth it...Mine needed a little work but in the end it will all be worth it

Just about done with the grille. Been working on it the past few days. I've decided to leave it black. Not perfect but it's going to be a driver. I will need to replace the lenses at some point but still ok to use. Bought a heater for the garage so I can continue to work over the winter. Hope to have most of the body finished and ready for paint by late spring.
Rex didn't, when I got him at least.
Thanks for the quick reply. It didn't look like it ever had one on it but wanted to make sure.

yours does look like it should though - the two small holes in the center are for mounting the emblem - JM2C - I think 71 did, though they are very often missing. Oh, nice work - it looks good!

The emblem from my '72 is missing, but I'm OK with that. Did you just have to glue the broken beams back in, or did you take good pieces from a parts grill and bond them in?
I also need to replace the lenses, but I don't want to pay NOS prices, so the 44 year old ones will have to do

I actually bought plastic sheets that are 1/16" and made the replacement pieces that were missing and glued them in. Ebay has a good selection of plastic in different thickness. Took a little time but worth it.

70 was the only year the emblem was factory, 71 and 72 didn't have them and of course the 72 grill also didn't have the extra moldings in the middle like 70 & 71
