Hard to see clearly on the fender tag, but it looks like a "513" ? build date, would be May 13th, blue engine is correct, may even have factory electronic ignition. I can't tell by the pics.

Does Crestview Dodge still exist?
The two dealers for '71 Swinger 340 Specials were Crosstown Motors in Edmonton, Alberta (40 units) and Crestview Dodge in Regina, Saskatchewan (25 units for a total of 65) - I have the ads. For 1972, it was Crosstown again and this year, it was Pembina Dodge in Winnipeg, Manitoba that got them (gifts from head office for blowing out a bunch of stock). There is only one documented Pembina Dodge Swinger 340 Special and paperwork doesn't exist anymore, so I don't know the number of Winnipeg cars produced. I talked with the original owner of Pembina Dodge (Ike), while he is very up in age, he did remember 'those little hot rods' but said there weren't very many of them. Looks like there were approximately 50 Crosstown units for '72.

513 is correct. All Crestview cars have a 513 build date. Crosstowns were 5/7

Hey Reverse Duster 340 (Retsud_043), nice find! How fresh was the repaint on it? Is it a driver or does it stay in the quonset? Rural Saskatchewan? Sorry, have a bunch of questions and I know you can't give names on here but I have a last name of someone with a Y3 '71 340 Special in Saskatchewan and that's it, hmmm, I wonder. Interesting.

Crestview chrysler still exists. They moved across the street about 10 years ago from where their original building was. They traded with Canadian Tire. They took the Canadian Tire store and Canadian tire knocked down the old dealership and Built a new building. There were quite a few Muscle Cars sold in Saskatchewan during the muscle car era because grain farming was very profitable then. Lots of young kids with money.
Did you meet Gary Willis? He has a 67 Valient S6 car.

Here's a prime example of one of the 25 '71 Crestview 340 Specials - externally it's done to original specs but the running gear on this one is done, including the original numbers matching 340 (thanks Curtis). There are finally a few of these cars being restored - this one being the second or third. There are a few survivors and a good number that are waiting in the wings to be done. There are only 21 documented examples of the original 65 made (keep an eye out, like retsud_340 did - unknowingly - awesome find and info).

First '72 Swinger 340 Special to be restored - thanks Kevin. This one is Y1 (only 2 hi-impact colours that year) with the most noticeable traits, the snorkel scoop, grille, rallye wheels (centres), rear stripe and badging 340 emblem just behind front side marker light and Swinger and Special right under it like the '71's. This is an great example of a Crosstown car and only 7 have been found and only one Pembina example has come to the surface so far... Keep an eye out!
