Selling 1972 340 engine with 340 hp manifolds and Unsilenced air cleaner. This engine has been rebuilt and has been in storage for several years. It has fresh oil in it currently. I turn the engine manually to keep it lubed and free. Asking $4500 or best offer. Also have a rebuilt 833 A OD 4 speed transmission for sale complete with smallblock bellhousing, clutch, pressure plate and rebuilt Hurst shifter handle and linkagesAsking $1800 for trans. Located in Austin tx. I am willing to sell just the engine minus the exhaust manifolds for $4,000. I am also willing to ship at buyers expense. I bought the engine a few years back from a gentleman who had bought a 71 340 Demon from a man who was terminally ill. The ill man gave him this rebuilt 340 as part of the deal they had made. The new owner of the Demon sold the car and this 340 sat in his garage for a few years before I bought it. The heads were off the engine when I bought it so I was able to inspect the internal of the engine. I pulled a piston to check the rings. They are brand new. I cleaned up the dry assembly lube and I relubed, reassembled the bottom end and I torqued it all to specs. I installed the heads to the block. It has .20 pistons . Which are correct for 1972 340s. It does have a steel crank in it.This engine is ready to go. I also have a new set of Keith Black .30 high compression pistons that were given to me if i decided to bring the engine to 68-70 340 specs with 10:1 compression. Which I will sell for an additional $350. Located in Austin Tx
