Hello,
I am rebuilding a 1972 Dart. I will use a 340 with a 230 3 speed transmission. The car will also have a 8.75 742 Rearend.
I am going to have a propeller shaft built, and I wanted to run my plans by you gys to make sure I am going in the right direction:
What I believe is that the shaft will need to be at least a 2.75" diameter tube and the shaft length will be 49.57" center of front joint to center of rear joint.
Is this correct? Can I use a bigger tube (3.5")?
I need to confirm the Slip yoke that I should be using (35 tooth spline? part number?) and ujoint size (dana 1330?)
Am I headed in he right direction?
Also, if I decide to install an 833 4-speed later, will the same shaft work?
Thanks,
Pete
