Anyone know how to correct extremely sensitive power brakes? Especially the 1st time applied it about throws you through the windshield. Then from there on they are still very touchy. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Which brakes do you have? Drum, KH disc of the 73+ disc brakes?

The first think you'll need to do is pull the front drums. If brake fluid has saturated the linings ( my best guess )
or if the linings radius doesn't match the drum radius, that's the cause.
If no fault is found inside the front assemblies, next step is replace the master cylinder.

Another thing to check is the brake adjustment at each wheel. The adjusters might be set to make the shoes too close to the drums.

Are these newly installed? Back off the brake adjusters, then back up and hit the brakes a few times to get them to adjust properly.

Oops, DFX beat me to it, didn't see that reply. But yeah, if these are newly rebuilt brakes, it could very easily be that.

Thanks again, haven't had a chance to check these out yet as I've been spending most of my time trying to get my '69 Swinger assembled.
