1972 Demon production figures

Hi Guys, anybody know the production figurs for '72 Demons? I'm specifically looking for /6 autos, but anything would help. Gurus? Hello? :scratch:
 
And I'm assuming there is no breakdown of engines..Any guesses on the most common and least common? I'd think 340s are rarest..Could you order a 318 in one?
 
One of my books says the 340 demon(LM29) 8700 produced and the 318 and slant six demons(LL29) production was 39880. That's about all the help I can give you with what I have. Hope it gives you some help.
 
I was reading something once, now don't qoute me on these exact numbers, but slant 6's were put into in 65% of the A-bodies. 318 were like 25%. 340s and 360s combined was less than 10%. Not that this helps you in anyways but it was something I found interesting.

I can believe that, when I was in high school, there were Dusters & Darts everywhere. Most driven by little old ladies it seamed like. Even my grandmother drove one.

BTW My Grandmother retired from Chrysler in 74. She stitched the Upolstery together on Chysler products for 30 years.

When i bought my Duster this past summer i bought it off the 2nd owner,an old guy of about 70/75.
He said he bought it off of his neighbor which was the 1st owner and he said she was around 80 when he bought it from her!

So total Demon production was 48,500? Seems kind of high, or is that all models of dart sport/demon?

That seemed kind of high to me too but I double checked and it's what the book says for demon production. I guess it's not that many considering they made almost 215,000 darts that year.
 
1971 Barracuda coupe (BH21) and hardtop (BH23) together 9459, convertable (BH27) 1014, Gran Coupe (BP23) 1615. Total Barracudas for '71 12088. Cuda's for'71, hardtop (BS23) 6228, convertable (BS27) 374. Total Cudas 6602.

I'm sure she would be more than willing, if you could bring her back to life to do it. :angel4:
