1972 Duster Fuel FIller Neck - Can I use one from 1973?

1972 was the transitional year to a new style fill neck (and new tank venting). Seems that repo's are available for 70-71 and 73-75. I'm not sure what makes the 1972 different from the 1973. From pics on this forum and Google, looks like they mount the same way.

It appears that mine is drilled for both styles. There is a chance that these are not factory holes.

Certainly looks like it would work. Maybe with a couple more holes. Don't know about the neck to tank grommet. Might check the part number for both of them. Here's a picture of my 74.

There was no "before" and "after." Some cars had evap controls in CA in 70, and I'm not sure all did in 71. But Ma chanced fuel caps almost every year. Some year caps harder to get than others. So there is that
 
I would get one from a space duster, it has a kink in it that allows for more usable trunk space
