u can use the schumaker headers.with will work with power steering no prblems and no cutting required to make them fit.can view them at engine-swaps.com u will have to use mini starter.
u can use high performance c-body manifolds. they have to be milled.to make them fit and clear power steering. u have to use a electric fan because u no room with regular fan between the radiator. u also need use a c-body oil pan for clearance they the #187,#699 pans. check out bigblockdart.com then go to the tech info.

Doesn't matter what it is, use a mini starter, tons of room and a lot easier to remove with everthing in place compared to that 1 ton lunger big assed starter. IMO.

If you can't afford the cost of TTIs, I'd get the shuamackers, they won't flow as well, but there plenty of header for 450-475 FWHP, once you start exceeding 500 HP you really need a 1.7/8 primary or 1.3/4 minumium, I like fenderwells, you can run PS & any starter you want, the only 2 drawbacks are MC/line heat & cutting up the inner fenderwells, but its not harmful in a basic A body, you really don't hurt the value IF its a clean job, So if your going with a milder BB just get the shuamacker mount kit with the headers, I would also run a mini starter, there alot less weight & easier to install, plus you aliminate that dreaded mopar ta-tur-ta-tur-ta-tur LOL.

My plan is to drop a 383 in my Scamp I recently purchased. I definitely have more to learn about this swap, and I am not trying to cause an argument or act as if I have all the answers – I don’t, but you do not have to go with an electric fan or light weight starter. Yes, you would have more room and the car can run cooler, but you do not have to.

Spend a moment looking at the FABO pics thread for this swap. You’ll see belt driven fans in some pics (383 or 440). Yes, it’s REALLY tight. LOL

(Quote: You’ll see belt driven fans in some pics.) and no it's not that tight with the 383 and a 3 core rad.

You can use B body HP exhaust manifolds as well (no milling) if you're not going for max output. Check out BigBlockDart.com tech pages for some good info.

Question just ordered a disk break conversion for front of my scamp. I know you have to change upper arms to b body . The kit uses b body spindles . Do I need to change bottom ball joints ? I'm going to replace them anyway. Thanks

383 is a little different form a 383. 440 is rb block,which is a tighter fit than a 383.u will have to use a electric fan&mini starter.they show a 383 not a 440 swap.

Using a mini starter would make things easier yes, but it is not required.

Nice build...you're making me think harder about dropping in a big block...dammit. That's a pretty swank little exhaust outlet there-interesting!

Ok, so what radiator did you go with there? I recently sourced a 383 and I'll be working that way eventually.
