I need to settle a friendly argument, and need to pick some brains ...

Does anyone know for sure if the Twister was available in '72 with a 340 ?

I always thought they were only available in /6 and 318's.

Help ??

Thanks,

Kenny

I second that , as far as i know the twister package was slant 6 and 318 only. Basicly a stripe and performance hood package.

Rumors of canadian cars exist. Sort of like the 71 Swinger 340's

None in the states. Twisters were insurance pacifier cars. Looked tough, ran slow.

I know there has been one advertised recently as a twister 340, it's not. It's a 340 car.

Rob is correct. Not sure if any of the Canadian cars have been found.

vin will have a "H" in it and as far as i know no twisters were 340's. trim only

The '71-'74 Twister pkg cars were all coded A51. The only avail engines with this pkg was a 225 slant six or a 318. This A51 pkg was never avail on an E55 340 Duster, David.

Okay, Mopar Muscle, February 2001---1971 stock option, page 48...A51, Duster Twister Package--VL29 could be combined w/E55 in Canada (which E/55 for 1971 is the 275hp, 340 4bbl)

I knew i read this somewhere, if anyone wants i'll scan the pages later

That would be really cool if you could scan those .. This guy swears he knew of an H code Twister, so maybe there is a possibility it was only available to our friends to the north ?

Thanks for the replies guys, and keep 'em coming - I haven't conceded yet, :read2:

I've heard rumors about them also, I do find the vin strange
still starting with VL instead of VS. Would there be an H in the vin ? or would that be unchanged and standard to "Twister" vin also ?

What assembly plant ? St-Therese ? ...

Sooo many questions.
