1973 wheel lug spacing???

Forgive me for a stupid question but what lug spacing should a 1973 Dart Sport have?? I know there is 4in and 4.5in But I keep measuring 4.25in center to center the way they are supposed to be measured. I am kinda stumped. I do not see how I could be off .25in eather way.

Esay on a 73.
If you have drum brakes, you have 4 inch (small) bolt wheels with 7/16ths studs.
If you have front disc brakes, you have a 4.5 inch bolt pattern with 1/2 inch studs.

you have a 4.5...you're measuring it wrong. you start from the outside of one stud, to the center of one across from it..meaning skip one. if you're getting 4.25 from center to center...the other half an inch is the half of the other stud you aren't including.
