1974 dart

the front Clip of that era is the reason the sales dropped like a meteour those years I believe... I have a 74 myself..but about to hax on a 71 grille

just keep in mind, if you build it right, most people will only see the rear end of it anyway

Lets look at production numbers and sales figures for the A bodys, pre beak and beak cars.

1968-1972 Dodge/Plymouth, Chrysler, Non Beak car numbers: 1,691,990 (not counting about 197,000 4 door/convertible versions) = 6 years, average per year of 281,998, highest was 1970 with 449,338 cars sold

1973-1976 The beak years: 1,756,732 (not counting 221,3474 door/convertible versions) = 4 years at an average of 439,183 cars sold. Highest year production wise was 1974, with 617,206 sold.

Looks like the beaks were very popular. Matter of fact, the 1974 A body was Chryslers top selling platform of the 1960s and 1970s

You couldn't be more wrong. Look at the sales numbers, the 1974 A body was the highest single year selling car for Chrylser of the 60s and and 70s. Matter of fact, the beakers out number the non beakers.........

I never liked 'em either, despite having had 3 or 4 of them. They say a Scamp fits on there, but my all time favorite was the 70Swinger340/71 Demon. Had 1 of each of those. Also the power bulge Dusters look pretty good. I never liked 'em back in the day, but if you get rid of those 5mph bumpers, they're alright. But beaks?I'm with you;ptoui!

well now, there's no need to be rude :)finga:) about it! wuz juz teazn yaz - my first Dart was a 74... sure wish I still had it too... it's like bikers, you may not be up on a Harley but you're up on two - it's all good..

I thought it was funny! Hence the " :D "

Yea -I had a feeling you may have just chosen the "wrong" emoticon-dude-thingy (or whatever they are calling them) - kinda figured you probably weren't giving me the finger... :D Aaaanyyyyway - back to OP's inquiry - buy what you like and want - if you change your mind later or find a cooler car -as in pre 73... someone will buy it from you - - eventually...

....incorrigible aren't I?
I thought it was funny! Hence the " :D "

I don't think the 74 will ever be called the best looking A body around, but I think the 74 Dart looks a lot better than a 74 Mustang or 74 Camaro. I get a lot of people who give me the thumbs up when they see mine. Its got holes on the sides from the removal of the side molding. Don't forget that the 73-76 cars are cheaper too. I would have loved to buy a pre-73, but they were out of my price range.
